: Historic Newark Mansion Destroyed In 3-Alarm Blaze, 2 Firefighters Hurt
A historic 127-year-old mansion was consumed by fire in Newark Thursday night, Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said in a statement. Firefighters responded to 172 Clinton Ave. shortly before 8 p.m., where the fire was ripping through the vacant home. The fire went to three alarms before it was brought under control around midnight. About 80 firefighters responded, Ambrose said,. including units from Elizabeth and Bloomfield.
