Police in northwest Bergen County and Rockland have alerted their communities to remain vigilant after two vehicles were stolen near the state line. Video shows a thief testing three cars -- all locked -- on a quiet street in the village of Airmont before quickly moving on to a neighbor's house, Ramapo police said. A motorist who followed a Hillsdale girl home, pulled into her driveway and walked to her side door took off after being confronted by the youngster’s mother, said police who sought the public’s help finding him. Ho-Ho-Kus police sought the public's help finding the hit-and-run driver whose sedan struck and severely injured a borough woman as she walked her dog near the Ridgewood border Tuesday night. False Luring Alarm: Teens Offered Kids Candy As Joke, Montvale Police Say
MONTVALE, N.J. -- Two strangers who offered candy to children in Montvale over the weekend were a couple of high schoolers "making an inappropriate joke," authorities said. The report emerged Monday morning of a suspicious incident in Montvale on Sunday.
