According to the Military Times, for the first time in the history of Best for Vets rankings, a majority of schools -- around 57 percent -- were able to provide at least one type of veteran-specific academic outcome data metric, such as retention, graduation or course completion rates.
Colleges in the study were judged on a variety of veteran-specific criteria, including veterans offices, staff and academic support, extracurriculars and veteran percentage of the student body.
The University of Nebraska took this year's top spot for veterans, followed by The University of South Florida, Eastern Kentucky University, D’Youville College in New York, and Rutgers.
