UPDATE: Authorities have officially charged a Northern Valley Regional High School student living in Norwood with raping a fellow student at a post-prom party in Seaside Heights over the weekend. For the complete story, CLICK HERE.

Both the 19-year-old adult suspected in the rape and the the young woman are Northern Valley students from Norwood, an extremely reliable source with direct knowledge of the incident told CLIFFVIEWPILOT.COM.

Following the school’s prom last Friday, a group of teens headed to Seaside Heights. It’s unclear whether they had a motel room or were at a particular residence when an intoxicated 18-year-old girl from the group passed out, the source told the website.

Witnesses later said the 19-year-old student found her on the bed and began sexually assaulting her before classmates came in, “grabbed him, beat him up and then brought him back home,” the source told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

First, however, they cleaned up the room and “got rid of all evidence,” the source said.

They also brought the woman to Ocean County Medical Center, but she was not admitted, the source told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. It’s unclear why not.

Sunday night, the teen’s parents went to law enforcement authorities. She was taken to the hospital, where a rape test was administered, the source said.

The investigation is now in the hands of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, which could not immediately be reached.

However, there are several concerns here in North Jersey:

“A tremendous amount of alcohol was transported down to Seaside Heights the day before,” the source told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “Plus, they didn’t call police when they encountered the rape.

“All the kids now have lawyers.”

The source told CLIFFVIEW PILOT that concerns over who had or supplied the alcohol are secondary.

“The main thing here is the rape,” the source said.
