Borough officers assisted by their Old Tappan colleagues executed the search warrant at 7 p.m. Thursday and took Dustin M. Cook, 36, into custody, Police Chief William Essmann said.
They seized "multiple unregistered, illegal guns along with high-capacity ammunition magazines...numerous knives, swords, and brass knuckles," the chief said.
These included an assault rifle and a machine gun.
Harrington Park police arrested Cook two weeks ago after they said he blew a stop sign and plowed his car into the driveway of a house, damaging three other vehicles, while drunk.
Cook walked home and was arrested a short time later, they said.
He was being held on $50,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with various weapons and ammunition offenses.
