HAWORTH, N.J. -- A suspended Dumont driver came to Haworth Municipal Court to answer a traffic ticket with 10 bags of heroin and a straw in his sock, authorities said.
Officer Andrew Soltes was working court security Monday when he noticed the bulge and began to pat down Robert Blackwell, 28, Detective Sgt. Justin Fox told Daily Voice.
"At that point, [Blackwell] tried to turn and leave," Fox said, "but Officer Soltes confronted him and asked what was in his sock."
That's when he pulled out the smack and the straw, he said.
Blackwell was processed and released without bail pending a hearing on drug possession charges.
