Garfield police arrest man with $1,500 worth of ‘skull candy’ heroin

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Garfield police officers on a quality-of-life detail stopped and arrested a motorist carrying $1,500 worth of heroin stamped “skull candy” last night, authorities said.

Mitchell Pillot Jr., 18, of Palisade Avenue in Garfield was being held on $150,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

He is charged with heroin possession, possession with the intent to sell the drug and possession with intent within 1,000 feet of a school and 500 feet of a public park.

Pillot was arrested around 8:30 p.m. yesterday after police stopped his Volkwagen Jetta on Outwater Lane as part of a drug investigation, said Lt. Richard Uram, the department’s Quality of Life commander.

Pillot was carrying 150 wax envelopes of heroin, Uram said.

Participating in the investigation and arrest were Officers Mario Pozo, Marc Amos and Gerald Wich.
