Kenneth J. Kulig, 73, Of Emerson

EMERSON, N.J. -- Kenneth J. Kulig, of Emerson, died Nov. 17. He was 73.

He was born in Passaic and lived in Garfield for 50 years before settling in Emerson 23 years ago. 

Before retiring, he was owner/operator of New Hues Painting in Emerson for 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was past member of the Garfield Fire Department Co. #4, past trustee and vice president of the Garfield Board of Education. He also was grand marshal of the Pulaski Day Parade in New York City and past parishioner of St Stanislaus R.C. Church in Garfield. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Eleanor. 

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (nee Puzio); children, Kenneth, Daniel and Melissa Cadicina and husband Anthony; grandchildren, Austin and Owen Kulig and Daniella and Anthony Cadicina; and brothers, Msg. Anthony Kulig, Ronald Kulig and Gregory Kulig

The funeral will be at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at St. Stanislaus Church in Garfield for an 11 a.m. funeral Mass. Private cremation to follow. 

Arrangements by Santangelo Funeral Home, 300 Main St., Lodi. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 381021.
