HAWORTH, N.J. -- Kate O'Brien, of Haworth, died Friday, Aug, 5. She was 88.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1928, and grew up in St. Albans, N.Y. She graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1950 with a BFA.
She enjoyed a brief career as an actress before settling down in Haworth to raise a family.
She is survived by her children, Vince and his wife Toni, Liam and his wife Gina, Dominic and Conal O’Brien; grandchildren, Connor, Aidan, Jesse, Cataleen and Gabriel; and great-grandchildren, Selena, Jasmine, Juan and Cesar.
There will be a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Haworth. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus. The family will welcome friends from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave. Dumont.
