NORTHVALE, N.J. -- James C. Demitriou, 76, of Northvale, died Monday, Sept. 26.
He was a civil engineer and worked for Lee T. Purcell Associates in Fairfield for many years, having received his undergraduate and masters degrees from New York University. He was an avid fan of the New York Mets and Jets and enjoyed working in the radio booth as a statistician during Jets home games.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine; children, James and his wife Carrie, Kerry and his fiancé Susan Boucher and Alexia Gallagher and her husband John; and grandchildren, Sydney, Jillian, Lindsey, Ryan, Evan, Kaitlyn and John.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Nicholas G.O. Church, 467 Grandview Ave., Wyckoff. Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday with a Trisaghion Prayer Service at 8 p.m. at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave., Northvale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society.
