NORTHVALE, N.J. – Dorothy Ann (Everson) Shafer, of Dunnellon, Fla. and formerly of Hillsdale and Northvale, died Thursday, April 28. She was 80.
She loved a good party and was the first and last on the dance floor.
She was the wife of Ralph for 65 years this July; mother of Linda Ettinger and husband, Harold, of El Paso, Texas, Robin Shafer of Greenwood Lake, N.Y., Mary Saffert and her husband, Duke, of Old Tappan, and Charles Shafer of West Kingston, R.I.; grandmother of Michael Saffert, Daniel Saffert and his wife, Natalie, Meaghann Shafer, Abraham Ettinger and Benjamin Ettinger; sister of Madeline Hart, Bernard and Carol Everson, Eileen Williams; and sister-in-law of Sue Everson.
She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Yannucci; brother, Peter Everson; and brother-in-law, George Williams.
Visiting hours are from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave., Northvale. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Northvale, with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, New York.
