HARRINGTON PARK, N.J. -- A Harrington Park woman was honored with the Evangelina Menendez Trailblazer Award for her work in the Asian American health services field on Sunday, March 6, according to NorthJersey.com.
Kyung Hee Choi founded the health services program at Holy Name Medical Center that now serves more than 250,000 people in the Tri-State area. She began the program after witnessing the World Trade Center attacks in 2001 and said she wanted to find a way to help other Asian Americans break through cultural barriers, NorthJersey.com reported.
Choi was one of six women honored at the event at Montclair State University, NorthJersey.com said.
