Professor, Formerly of Old Tappan, Receives Service Award

OLD TAPPAN, N.J. -- Former Old Tappan resident, Professor Jeffrey Alstete, received the Pro Operis Award from Iona College on April 20.

The award is for 20 years of dedicated commitment to American Catholic Higher Education in the tradition of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers. Alstete -- a tenured full professor of management and business administration -- has won prior awards for teaching and research.

Alstete teaches courses on business policy and strategy, entrepreneurship, managerial decision making, knowledge management, competitive intelligence, benchmarking and other topics. He's written over 50 publications, including five books, many scholarly research journal articles, conferences papers, book chapters and other works.

He earned his doctorate from Seton Hall University, an MBA and MS from Iona College, and his BS in business administration from St. Thomas Aquinas College. Alstete currently lives in Cresskill with his wife and daughter.
