Old Tappan Reorganization Meeting Includes Mayoral Change

OLD TAPPAN, N.J. — Old Tappan Council will hold its reorganization meeting and say goodbye to the outgoing mayor Sunday, Jan. 3.

Councilman John M. Kramer will officially take over as mayor for Victor Polce at 1 p.m. at borough hall, 227 Old Tappan Road.

Polce, a resident of Old Tappan for more than 30 years, did not seek re-election in November.

Part of Sunday's ceremonies will include a celebration of Polce's tenure with coffee and cake.

At 2:30 p.m. the rest of the ceremony will begin with the swearing in of Kramer as mayor.

Also being sworn in will be Councilwoman Anna Haverilla, Councilman Guy Carnazza, Fire Chief Frank Mazza and his officers, and First Aid Corps Capt. Mark Geerink and his officers.

The meeting will conclude with any new council business.

The meeting is open to the public.
