Old Tappan Designer Teaches Simple, Elegant Holiday Home Decor

OLD TAPPAN, N.J. -- The holidays are rushing toward us, and interior designer Irene Holmgren of Old Tappan wants to help folks get their homes ready. The Old Tappan Public Library is hosting her on Monday, Nov. 7, for a free presentation.

Irene Holmgren designs elegant kitchens -- but she'll be available to help with holiday decorating at the Old Tappan Public Library on Nov. 7.

"Holmgren is adept at working with all budgets and has many creative ideas for making your home festive and beautiful for the season," organizers note.

She started out as an artist at a very early age, and she integrates artistry into her current work, as well. She got a degree in writing and education from Queens College, with a minor in art.

Holmgren traveled, as she worked for a major international hotel chain, and was exposed to wide-ranging design concepts -- and then studied at the Parsons School of Design. She founded a full-service interior design firm, Priceless Kitchens and Interiors, in 1986.

She has a passion for well-designed kitchens -- which she considers to be the epicenter of the home -- but she works throughout the home. She's also worked on commercial projects, ranging from the Intercontinental Hotel in New Orleans to airline terminals.

Holmgren oversees every detail of projects, from the master plan down to table accessories. For more information about her business, visit her Facebook page.

The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. The library is at 56 Russell Ave. To keep up with library events, visit its website or follow it on Facebook.
