Hours before he was killed in a Sussex County crash, motorcyclist Jesse Dunn was taking in the idyllic moment alongside Greenwood Lake. "Beautiful day to be out on the bike," 38-year-old Dunn of Unionville, N.Y., wrote on Facebook around 4 p.m. Saturday. Couple Caught On Route 23 With 'Cobain'-Stamped Heroin Bags, Wayne Police Say
Nearly half of 44 heroin bags that Wayne police found a couple carrying after stopping their nearly 20-year-old sedan were stamped “Kurt Cobain,” authorities said. Officer Thomasz Cydzik and Sgt. James Clark stopped the dilapidated 2000 Saturn on northbound Route 23 just before 4:30 p.m. Thursday because its brake lights were out, Detective Capt. Lawrence Martin said. No Bull: Slaughterhouse-Bound Cow Takes Leap Of Faith Onto Route 80
A cow on a transport truck bound for a Paterson slaughterhouse narrowly escaped death -- twice! -- after leaping off onto Route 80 and dodging traffic Thursday morning. The cow jumped from the truck's second level and onto the highway, stopping eastbound traffic around 2:45 a.m., before officials from Skylands Animal Sanctuary Rescue arrived, the sanctuary posted on social media. Rescuers helped police corral the animal, who is now called "Brianna" and living her best life at the Wantage sanctuary.

UPDATE: A driver was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer late Tuesday on Route 287 near the Route 17 split in Mahwah after he got out of his car following an accident, State Police said. John J. Neumayer, 51, of Wantage was pronounced dead at the scene following the 11:20 crash at a convergence of highways notorious for serious accidents. Prospect Park PD: Teens Arrange Separate 'Sale' Meetings, Swipe 3 Dirtbikes
PROSPECT PARK, N.J. – Aided by cellphone video, Prospect Park police tracked down two teens who they said arranged meetings to buy dirt bikes from three different owners – then stole them. Ameir Logan, 18, was working on one of the stolen bikes in front of his Paterson home when Detective Walter Richmond and Officer Arthur Canestrino rolled up on him, authorities said.
