A 22-year-old Connecticut man is facing multiple assault charges following a crash that seriously injured two passengers in New Jersey last year. Daniel Leal Jr., of Meriden, CT, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 2, in connection to a crash that happened in Kearny in October 2021, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced. A 28-year-old Jersey City man has received his punishment for the 2019 killing of an Elizabeth man. Anthony Reciofigueroa was sentenced on Thursday, Oct. 6 to 55 years in New Jersey state prison for the shooting death of Carlos Rodriguez, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel said. Reciofigueroa in June was found guilty of murder and unlawful weapon possession after a three-week trial before Union County Superior Court Judge John Deitch. A 27-year-old North Jersey man is facing life in state prison for the shooting death of a teenager, authorities said. Anthony Reciofigueroa, of Jersey City, was found guilty Thursday, June 9 of first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and second-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes after a three-week trial, Union County Prosecutor William A. An Essex County correctional officer admitted Wednesday that he covered up a colleague’s assault of a federal detainee. Angel Chaparro, 38, told a federal judge in Newark that he and two colleagues were strip-searching the detainee at the Essex County Correctional Facility last August when the assault occurred. A 20-year-old Union County man who shot and killed his girlfriend at his house over the weekend was in police custody as of Tuesday afternoon, authorities announced. Jamar I.
