A New Jersey man was killed when a 14-year-old driver in a stolen car struck his vehicle head-on early Tuesday, March 28 in New York, authorities said. The teen was heading south in a Toyota 4Runner on Route 9 in Rhinebeck when he struck Jonathan A. Kiech, 49, of Fords, who was heading north, around 6:30 a.m., Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Capt. Mahwah firefighters extricated a box truck driver following a collision with a garbage truck. The victim's legs were pinned by the crash at the intersection of Edison Road and Leighton Place around 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23. Pedestrian Killed In Jersey Shore Crosswalk Was Guyanese Swimmer
A 34-year-old swimmer visiting from Guyana — or the "Land of Many Waters" — was struck and killed by a vehicle while in a crosswalk in Freehold Township, authorities said. Robert Taylor was struck by a southbound driver on Route 9 at Schibanoff Lane on Monday, Jan. 9 around 7 a.m., according to authorities and those who knew Taylor. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor was a mentor with the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association. Tractor-Trailer Crash Temporarily Closes Route 17 Stretch
A noontime collision involving a tractor-trailer temporarily closed a stretch of Route 17 on Wednesday. One injury was reported, though it wasn't immediately clear how serious, following the Nov. 16 crash on the northbound highway in Rochelle Park. The rear passenger side tire of a Volvo sedan that collided with the rig was sheared off. Route 17 North was closed at Woodland Avenue so the wreckage could be cleared and borough police could investigate.

Motorist Killed In Wrong-Way Garden State Parkway Crash:

A 29-year-old man from Morris County — driving the wrong way on the Garden State Parkway — was killed in a collision with a pickup truck, authorities said. Hamilton W. Smith 3rd, of Lincoln Park, was driving south in the northbound lanes when he collided with a pickup headed north, New Jersey State Police said. The crash occurred at about 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 27 in the express lanes at milepost 112 in Middletown Township. The impact caused the pickup to overturn, police said. It was not immediately clear if the other driver was seriously hurt. The crash remains under investigation.

A 24-year-old driver from Cresskill refused medical attention Friday afternoon after his sedan struck a parked vehicle and rolled outside Haworth Public School. New Lexus Slams Into Fair Lawn Home
A brand-new Lexus coupe slammed into a Fair Lawn home following a collision with a sedan. No injuries were reported in Saturday night's mishap on Morlott Avenue.
