Gunman Charged In Deadly Shootout Held In Bergen County Jail Pending Trial: Prosecutors
An arrest has been made in a shootout that left one man dead over the weekend. Uvaldo Mora, 28, is accused of exchanging gunfire with the 33-year-old man at Straight Street and Park Avenue around 11:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said. The 33-year-old man was struck in the head and throughout his torso, and died at the hospital. Meanwhile, Mora was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Certain Persons Not to Possess a Weapon. A Paterson shootout left two men wounded, one with critical injuries, late Saturday, Oct. 5 , authorities said. The 33-year-old man and 28-year-old man, both of Paterson, exchanged gunfire near Straight Avenue and Park Place around 11:15 p.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Two Paterson men who exchanged gunfire on one of the city’s deadliest corners were captured along with a third man who authorities said was involved in the shootout.
