UPDATE: An off-duty nurse helped rescue a 69-year-old bicyclist who suffered an apparent medical emergency in a Bergen County park, authorities said. Jacqueline Polentarutti was conducting CPR when Glen Rock and Paramus police and Bergen County sheriff's officers arrived at the bike path in Saddle River County Park near the Paramus border last Wednesday, Aug. 2. Head-On Crash In Glen Rock Sends Two To Hospital
An out-of-state driver and her passenger from Dumont were hospitalized following a head-on crash in Glen Rock, authorities said. A 2019 Jeep had just exited Saddle River County Park headed south when it swerved into the northbound lane of Prospect Street and struck a 2020 Honda Civic shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. The driver, a 44-year-old Ridgewood man, said he was unsure of what happened, Ackermann said. He refused medical attention, the chief said. UPDATE: An intense multi-agency search ended happily when a woman who'd wandered into the cold from her Ridgewood home Sunday night was found in Paramus. Elmwood Park Woman Charged, Boyfriend Hospitalized With Knife Wound In Saddle Brook Incident
UPDATE: An Elmwood Park woman was jailed Friday after injuring her boyfriend with a pocket knife during an incident at friend's house in Saddle Brook, police said. Leonor O'Hara, 23, was charged with aggravated assault, making terroristic threats and weapons possession following the 7 a.m. incident at a home on Saddle River Road near Saddle River County Park, Police Chief Robert Kugler said. County Duck Pond Park-Goers Victimized In Daylight 'Smash-And-Grab' Car Burglary Spree
Brazen burglars swiped valuables from at least three vehicles belonging to park-goers at the Duck Pond in Saddle River County Park in Ridgewood early Wednesday evening. The Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification was summoned to try and collect fingerprints or other evidence from the vehicles, all of which had their windows broken. Meanwhile, village police spoke with victims and searched to see whether there were any more. They didn't say whether or not the victimized vehicles were locked. Boyd A.
