A former biology teacher in Bergen County had his teaching license revoked after an incident in which he purposely backed his car into another vehicle and then used a hammer to assault the victim, state officials said. The State Board of Examiners reviewed the information regarding Christopher R. Icochea from the Office of Student Protection (OSP) in September 2023, they said. The incident appears to have happened two years after Icochea resigned from his position as a biology teacher at Tenafly High School, district paperwork shows. An emotionally disturbed apartment visitor held responders at bay in Ridgefield Park for four hours before being taken to a hospital Monday afternoon, authorities said.
