The first full day of spring will bring as much as a foot or more of snow to the tristate area as the fourth Nor'easter of the month moves through the region on Wednesday. The latest snowfall projections, by the National Weather Service and AccuWeather.com, can be viewed in the first two images above. New Nor'easter's Heavy Snow, Strong Winds Could Cause Power Outages A day after spring has sprung, parts of the tristate area may be buried in close to a foot of snow by the fourth Nor'easter of the month, according to the latest forecast by the National Weather Service. HO-HO-KUS, N.J. – Video shows a downed power line in Ho-Ho-Kus that ignited a tree limb, eventually sparking an underground explosion that popped two manhole covers – nearly hitting emergency responders. ABC7 Eyewitness News video shows responders arriving at the Gilbert Road fire, which broke out just before 10 a.m. Thursday when a primary service line set the limb ablaze, cracking it off the tree. Commute Just Got Worse; NJ Transit Cancels Bus Service
North Jersey commuters might want to start looking for a backup plan. NJ Transit announced it will cancel bus service after 4:30 p.m. due to snow accumulation in Wednesday's storm. It will be cross-honoring rail, bus, private carriers and light rail service. The storm will be most potent during the afternoon hours Wednesday.
