Contractor Hospitalized In 12-Foot Fall From Roof In Ridgewood
A 30-year-old contractor was hospitalized after falling from the roof of a Ridgewood home Monday morning, Jan. 27, police said. The incident happened at 444 East Gate, where the contractor fell 12 feet sometime around 11 a.m. Incident reporter Boyd A. Loving says the incident happened in the rear of the home when the worker fell from scaffolding. Ridgewood Police Capt. Glenn Ender says the worker was transported to Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Suspect In $1,500 Shoplifting Heist Injures Clifton Officer During Pursuit: Cops
A Bloomfield man was arrested Thursday night, Jan. 23, after stealing $1,500 worth of clothing from a Kohl’s store on Main Avenue in Clifton, police said. A suspicious package prompted evacuations and a large emergency response to a Bergen County neighborhood on Wednesday, Jan. 22, authorities said. Police were called to the 300 block of Beech Street in Washington Township around 4:45 p.m., after a resident reported receiving an unexpected brown cardboard box from an overseas address, police said in a news release. A 54-year-old homeless man was found sleeping at Ridgewood High School Tuesday morning, Jan. 21, police said. The man was found near the footbridge of the high school field just before 7 a.m. by a concerned citizen who called police, Ridgewood Ridgewood Police Capt. Glenn Ender said.
