Firefighters were called to a Hackensack 7-Eleven on Thursday morning, Sept. 5, where a vehicle had plowed through the storefront. Damaging Tight Squeeze Brings Hackensack Firefighters
A moving company box truck got boxed in when its driver misjudged the height of the parking garage of a Hackensack office building. City firefighters removed the truck, which had damaged the ceiling of the ground-level garage on Passaic Street at Vanderbeck Place while getting wedged in around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12. No injuries were reported. A city building inspector didn't report any structural issues. Homeless Man Found Dead Behind Dunkin' Donuts Dumpster In Hackensack, No Foul Play Suspected
No foul play was suspected in the death of a homeless man found in back of a Dunkin' Donuts in Hackensack, authorities said. The body was found behind a dumpster in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot on Passaic Street off Railroad Avenue shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday, responders said. The Hispanic man, believed to be in his 30s, apparently had been camped out behind the trash bin, they said. Worker Escapes Excavator Mishap In Hackensack
A worker crawled out after an excavator tipped over at a Hackensack demolition site Friday afternoon. The 26-year-old Haledon man refused medical treatment after the mishap around 4:30 p.m. at 11 Passaic Street off River Street, Capt. Darrin DeWitt said. "He only had minor scratches," the captain said. Hackensack police who were tipped off by an alert resident captured a burglar moments after he broke into a church 'round midnight Wednesday, authorities said. A Bogota motorcyclist who was thrown when a car rear-ended him at a Hackensack stoplight was released from the hospital after being treated, police said. The 27-year-old motorcyclist was stopped on River Street at the corner of Passaic Street when a 2004 Taurus hit his 2017 Kawasaki from behind, throwing him to the sidewalk, just after 1 a.m. Thursday, Capt.
