NJ Town's Mayor Charged In High School Parking Lot Incident The mayor of one New Jersey town is facing weapons offenses for an incident that happened in a high school parking lot, police said. Linwood police released a statement saying only that Erland V. Chau, 72, was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose stemming from an incident in the Mainland Regional High School on Oct. 1.  Chau is the mayor of Northfield. 2 Drivers Dead In Wrong-Way Parkway Crash Two drivers died in a head-on crash on the Garden State Parkway Friday, Oct. 21, authorities said. Cortney Downey, of Northfield, and Michelle ross, of North Carolina, collided in Little Egg Harbor Township around 9:30 p.m., causing Ross' 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander to overturn, New Jersey State Police said. Rookie NJ Officer Killed In Off-Duty Accident A police department in Atlantic County is mourning the loss of one of its own. Northfield police officer Jonathan Scull died in an off-duty accident Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 27 years old. Scull was apparently working on a vehicle at a private home in a nearby town when the accident occurred, NJ Advance Media reports.
