Driver Hospitalized After Ho-Ho-Kus Collision
An elderly Mini Cooper driver was hospitalized with serious injuries following a noontime crash in Ho-Ho-Kus. The other driver refused medical attention after the Clubman and Honda Insight collided at 1st Street and North Maple Avenue shortly after 12:30 p.m. Police, firefighters and EMS from both Ridgewood and Ho-Ho-Kus were among the responders, along with two rigs from The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Authorities asked the public’s help finding a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a pedestrian walking her dog in Ho-Ho-Kus last month. The 57-year-old victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center following the 6:50 p.m. Nov. 26 crash after responders found her on the edge of the roadway at the intersection of North Maple Avenue and First Street, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Thursday. Ho-Ho-Kus police sought the public's help finding the hit-and-run driver whose sedan struck and severely injured a borough woman as she walked her dog near the Ridgewood border Tuesday night. The 57-year-old pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk on North Maple Avenue at 1st Street when she was struck around 7 p.m. by a red sedan that then kept going north on Maple, Ho-Ho-Kus Police Chief Christopher Minchin said. HO-HO-KUS, N.J. -- A search in Ho-Ho-Kus for a man who reportedly threatened "suicide by cop" was abandoned Friday afternoon. New York City police notified local authorities that the man may have been in Ho-Ho-Kus, where his minivan was found. A Bergen County Regional SWAT Team and county sheriff's K-9 unit were dispatched to Brookside Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus, where the minivan was found. A search of the vehicle turned up nothing suspicious.
