Rutgers Student, Beloved Medical Assistant Dies After Leukemia Battle, 22
Rutgers University student and beloved medical assistant Christine Michelle Starozytnyk died on Friday, March 11 after battling leukemia. She was 22.
Born in New Brunswick, Starozytnyk grew up in South Bound Brook, where she survived childhood leukemia, her obituary says.
Starozytnyk was a Somerset Pediatric Group medical assistant and Rutgers University student, her memorial says.
Starozytnyk was remembered as caring, generous, humble, and “unimaginably kind.”

Busted: DUI Driver Had More Than 450 Bags Of Heroin In Hunterdon County Stop, Police Say
A 24-year-old Middlesex County woman was found with more than 450 bags of heroin when she was pulled over for driving under the influence in Hunterdon County, authorities said.
Holly Saeger, of New Brunswick, was stopped by Patrolman Gregory Zytko in Flemington around 11 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, local police said in a Friday release.
More than 450 bags of suspected heroin, as well as prescription medications and drug paraphernalia, were found in Saeger’s vehicle following a “positive indication” from K9 Kita, police said.
The heroin had a street value of approximately $4,000, police said. …

A New Jersey mom died of COVID-19 earlier this month without ever being able to hold. her newborn baby, the New York Post reports.
Michelle Stani, 37, of Bridgewater, gave birth to Jayden, her fourth child, in late December. On Jan. 12, she died at a New Brunswick hospital, the outlet says citing her aunt, Tina Stani.

Passenger Killed, 2 Others Hurt In Garden State Parkway Crash On Christmas Eve
A passenger was killed and two others hurt when their minivan flipped on the Garden State Parkway on Christmas Eve, authorities said.
Devona Hutchinson, 47, of New Brunswick, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to New Jersey State Police.
The driver, Samuel Huff, 67, of East Orange, sustained minor injuries. The other passenger, police said. Tara Garland, 46, of Edison, sustained serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
