Wanted Unlicensed DWI Driver Carrying Crack, Smack, X Flees Route 208 Stop: Fair Lawn PD
An unlicensed driver with multiple outstanding warrants was carrying a variety of drugs and under the influence when he sped off from a Route 208 traffic stop, Fair Lawn police said.
Basher Bajes, 38, of the Burlington County town of Palmyra, was initially stopped by Officer Matthew Hearon at the eastbound Morlot Avenue exit from northbound Route 208 shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday, Oct 19, Sgt. Eric Eleshewich said.
Hearon had gotten out of his vehicle when Bajes hit the gas on his PC Cruiser and headed west on Morlot, then back onto the northbound highway, the sergeant said.

'Tragic Accident': Fair Lawn Boy, 9, Struck, Critically Injured
A 9-year-old Fair Lawn boy was critically injured Wednesday in what responders all said was a "tragic accident."
The third-grader apparently ran into 17th Street near Morlot Avenue when he was struck by a 2014 Honda CR-V shortly before 4 p.m., police Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
He was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson with a severe head injury, plus several broken bones, Metzler said.
The driver, a 58-year-old woman also from Fair Lawn, remained at the scene, the sergeant said. No charges will be filed, he said.

Police: Driver, 60, Breaks Other Motorist’s Nose In Fair Lawn Road Rage
FAIR LAWN, N.J. – A 60-year-old Fair Lawn driver blocked another motorist with his van, then punched him in the face, breaking his nose, said police who arrested him.
Severely bleeding, the 41-year-old Fair Lawn victim held onto Victor Aslanyan until another motorist summoned police to Morlot Avenue at Philip Street the afternoon of Jan. 22, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
Aslanyan “drove his 2015 Ford van around the victim’s 2017 Toyota Highlander, blocking the Toyota from proceeding on Morlot Avenue,” Metzler said.
