NJ Man Recovers From Venomous Snake Bite
A 21-year-old New Jersey man is recovering at home after he was bit by a copperhead snake, landing him in the hospital for three days. Kevin Murray of Pennington tells Daily Voice he was two minutes from his car on the way back from a sunset hike at Baldpate Mountain in Titusville when he felt a stinging sensation in his left ankle on Aug. 5. "At first I thought it was a bee or a wasp," he said. "I fell down and looked around, that’s when I saw the snake and put things together." Miss New Jersey Falls Short In Miss America Competition
Miss New Jersey Jaime Gialloreto of Woolwich fell short in this year's Miss America competition when Miss New York took the crown Sunday night. Nia Franklin was crowned Miss America 2019 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Miss Connecticut was first runner up. Sara Marie Brandsema and John David Handal were married March 2 at St. Aedan’s Church on the campus of St. Peter’s University in Jersey City. Brandsema is from River Edge and Handal is from Totowa.
