North Jersey Police Officers Running In NYC Marathon Raise Money For Responders In Need
Cresskill Detective Sergeant Jason Lanzilotti and Port Authority Police Officer Sam Sukool are raising money for a nonprofit organization that aids first responders in need before they run in the New York City Marathon. Mayday Missions is dedicated to "helping those who help others" -- bringing financial assistance to members of the service, law enforcement, firefighters, EMS and their families. She Thought She Wouldn't Win: North Jersey, Meet Your Favorite Fit Cop
The readers have spoken and the results are in. Congratulations to Wayne Police Officer Christie Ohlendorf, who was voted North Jersey's favorite "Fit Cop" in the Daily Voice competition. Ohlendorf, a CrossFit athlete -- was certain she wouldn't win but earned 27 percent of votes (out of the 10 total law enforcement officers). Paramus Deputy Chief Robert Guidetti took second place with 23 percent of votes. Fit Cops: Cresskill Detective Stayed Alive When Music Died At NYC Marathon
Jason Lanzilotti of the Cresskill Police Department was minutes into running the 2016 New York City Marathon when his headphones died. The plan was to let the music carry him through the 26.2-mile race. But he knows, things don't always go according to plan.
