Body Of Missing North Arlington Man Recovered From Passaic River
The search for a missing 65-year-old man came for a tragic end early this week. The body of Orlando Chamorro, who had been reported missing out of North Arlington on Friday, Aug. 2, was recovered from the Passaic River on Monday, Aug. 5, Essex County Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Fennelley said. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force responded to Main Street and the Belleville Turnpike on reports of a body in the water that morning, where firefighters made the recovery, Fennelley said. Police ID Union County Murder Victim, 44
A 44-year-old Roselle man was shot and killed in broad daylight over the weekend in Rahway, authorities said. Jack Harris was found suffering gunshot wounds on the 1400 block of Witherspoon Avenue around 12:40 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said in a statement. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Man Gets 23 Years For Role In Plainfield Shooting That Killed 1, Injured Child
An Edison man who previously pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in a shooting that left one dead and two wounded in Plainfield was sentenced Friday to 23 years in prison, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said. Jordan Robinson, 25, must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence under the state's No Early Release Act. On Nov. 6, 2015, gunfire broke out on the 300 block of Evona Avenue, killing 24-year-old Anthony Bowles of Plainfield. A 33-year-old woman and a six-year-old girl were wounded. : Suspect In Maplewood Double Killing Arrested
UPDATE, 12 p.m. Aug 4: A suspect in the killings has been arrested. Click here for more. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating after two people were found dead in Maplewood Saturday morning. Police were called to a home in the area around 6 a.m. on a report of a woman being assaulted. Arriving officers found an injured woman in the street and she as transported to Beth Israel Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead shortly after 7 a.m. Police also found an unresponsive man inside a home in the 400 block of Walton.
