Firefighters Battle New Milford House Blaze
Firefighters battled a Saturday night blaze that ravaged a New Milford home. Everyone got out OK after the fire ignited in the 2½-story wood-frame home on Holly Street off Graphic Boulevard and blew through the roof shortly before 6:30 p.m., responders said. A possible cause wasn't immediately given, although some speculated that a lightning strike from a sudden thunderstorm may have been responsible. Special Ed Student Among Those Injured In School Bus Crash In New Milford
A special education student and two adults sustained minor injuries when a school bus and a minivan collided in New Milford, authorities said. The Toyota minivan driver blew a stop sign before the crash sent the school bus careening onto a residential lawn at Boulevard and Graphic Boulevard around 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, Police Chief Brian T. Clancy said. Holy Name Medical Center EMS transported a minivan passenger and the two adults from the Joshua Tours bus out of Passaic to area hospitals, the chief said. 3 Workers Extricated, 4 Hospitalized In New Milford Rollover Crash
Three people were extricated from their work van that had rolled onto its side after being struck by an elderly driver who failed to stop at a stop sign Monday morning in New Milford, authorities said. The 11 a.m. crash was caused by an 89-year-old Tenafly driver who blew the stop sign at Graphic Boulevard, hitting the work van carrying three men, Detective Lieutenant Kevin Van Saders said. The workers -- ages 28, 53 and 68 -- were transported to HUMC, and the elderly driver was transported to Englewood Hospital, all with non life-threatening injuries, Saders said.
