The 63-year-old woman was crossing West Orchard Street when she was struck by a Dodge Ram turning left off Franklin Turnpike shortly before 6:45 p.m., Police Chief George Scherb said. The fire broke out on the second floor of the 2½-story, wood-frame house on West Crescent Avenue off Franklin Turnpike around 10:15 p.m. It went to a second alarm for coverage 20 minutes later and was knocked down 10 minutes or so after that, responders said.
