An unemployed Bergen County man paid children to strip during webchats so he could take screenshots that he then viewed and shared, authorities charged. Edward A. Torres, 23, tried destroying the evidence during a court-approved raid of his Union Place apartment off Harding Avenue, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. A 23-year-old salesman from Midland Park was arrested Tuesday and charged with trafficking child porn, authorities confirmed. Ali Aldoise was taken into custody during the execution of a search warrant at his home on Vreeland Avenue early Nov. 6, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. A construction worker from Wallington was caught with more than 1,000 images of child sex abuse, authorities charged. James Avallone, a 45-year-old retired U.S. Marine Corps sergeant, was arrested earlier this week following a months-long investigation. An Englewood Cliffs police officer rescued an assault victim, then subdued her assailant with help from backups, authorities said. The victim fled to safety after Officer Marc Krapels came upon the assault on Johnson Avenue while on patrol, Detective Lt. Ronald Waldt said. UPDATE: A 17-year-old River Edge girl and two Bronx teens were all seriously injured when their scooter barreled onto Route 4 and were struck by a passing vehicle, authorities said Sunday.
