Marriott Plans To Lay Off Over 800 Corporate Employees
Global hotel chain Marriott International is planning to lay off hundreds of employees by the start of the new year. According to a Maryland Work Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing, the company, based in Bethesda, listed 833 people slated to lose their jobs by Wednesday, Jan. 3. A young director's short film on YouTube with more than 7.3 million views that was filmed across New Jersey will soon be made into a major motion picture. According to Deadline, TriStar Pictures — a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment — purchased the rights to Wesley Wang's "nothing, except everything" following a bidding war. Fentanyl Dealer Charged In Rochelle Park Supply Chain Manager's OD Death: Prosecutor
A 29-year-old Paterson man has been charged with selling a 37-year-old Rochelle Park man the fentanyl that killed him, authorities announced. Police called to a home on Rochelle Avenue on Wednesday, July 10 just after 9:45 a.m., and found James A. Mara unresponsive and unconscious at the scene, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. An associate business professor at Kutztown University has died after he and another man's bodies were found frozen on one of the tallest mountains in Turkey last weekend, according to university administrators and local news reports. Newark native and Rutgers University graduate Joseph Guaman died in a car accident on Oct. 26, according to his obituary. He was 22 years old. Joseph was studying economics at Rutgers University, where he served as the president and director of the university's investing club, his obit says. Ridgewood native and Rutgers University graduate Mason Angus died on Feb. 27. He was 24 years old. Mason graduated from Ridgewood High School (2014) and Rutgers University (2019), with a bachelor's of science and economics, his obituary said. He had been working for Wiley Publishing in Hoboken, having recently been promoted to a configuration manager just prior to his death.
