Roaring Shed Fire Doused In Cresskill
A July 4th fire consumed a shed and damaged two homes in Cresskill. The fire ignited just 15 feet from the Beechwood Road home just off Knickerbocker Road shortly before 3:30 p.m. Monday, responders said. Everyone in the house got out OK and no injuries were reported. The house and a neighbor's house sustained some damage, as did nearby trees and a length of wooden fencing. The blaze "appeared accidental in nature, pending the results of an investigation," Cresskill Fire Chief Christopher S. Ulshoefer said. How Safe Is Your Chimney? NJ House Fire Serves As Critical Reminder
Firefighters quickly doused a smoky chimney blaze in Cresskill Wednesday night. Fortunately, it didn't cause the kind of damage that's possible when homeowners aren't vigilant. The Chestnut Street resident safely fled the two-alarm 11:30 p.m. blaze, Fire Chief Christopher S. Ulshoefer said. No injuries were reported. It began with a couple of after-prom parties and an extended Jersey Shore weekend. Then came the revelation that a Cresskill High School graduate had tested positive for the coronavirus.
