Armed Robber Admits Role In Multiple Liquor, Convenience Store Holdups In NJ, NY UPDATE: A member of a New Jersey-based armed robbery crew copped to holding up five liquor and convenience stores in two states, federal authorities said. Jaime Fontanez, 45, of Elizabeth and two accomplices went on a six-month armed robbery spree beginning in August 2018, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said. North Jersey Man Missing For Week+ Might Be Wearing Kilt, Family Says Police in Essex County are seeking the public's help in locating a man missing for more than a week. George Kovacs, who is known to wear a kilt, left his home in Bloomfield on June 8 around 4:30 p.m. and hasn't been heard from or seen since, local police said citing his family. He has triangle tattoos on his wrist and stands 6'2" tall. Anyone who sees him is urged to call Bloomfield police at 973-873-8559.

Police: Woman Didn't Make It Far In BMW Stolen Off North Jersey Lot A 33-year-old woman didn't make it far trying to steal a BMW from a dealership lot in North Jersey, authorities said. Asya Adams saw an employee moving vehicles at the dealership at 425 Bloomfield Ave., in Bloomfield, when she jumped in the driver's seat of one of the cars on April 14, Bloomfield Police Director Samuel DeMaio said. Adams fled on Franklin Street toward Newark, and apprehended inside the vehicle in Newark, police said.  She was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, with a pending court date.
