Jake Kim, a 47-year-old Englewood resident was killed after his bicycle was truck by a vehicle on Wednesday morning, June 19, according to a fundraiser created to assist his family. A 71-year-old Rockland bicyclist was hospitalized after a nasty fall at the state border in Old Tappan, authorities said. A 14-year-old boy was being flown to a nearby hospital after a bicycle accident in Sussex County, authorities said. The teen fell off a bicycle and hit his head near the Skyview Golf Course in Sparta Township shortly before 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, Sparta Police Lt. John Lamon told DailyVoice.com. The teen briefly lost consciousness and was bleeding from his ear, Lamon said. A medical helicopter was requested to land near the accident scene to take the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment as a precaution, police said. Additional details were not immediately available.

Bicyclist Struck, Killed By Train In Montclair
A man riding a bicycle was struck and killed by a train Monday, April 4 in Montclair, officials said. The unidentified bicyclist was struck by Montclair Boonton Line Train 1087 just before Watchung Avenue Station around 9:40 p.m., NJ Transit Spokesman Jim Smith said. The train had left Hoboken at 8:58 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hackettstown at 11:07 p.m., Smith said. None of the seven customers nor crew members were injured. Rail service was suspended between Walnut Street and Upper Montclair. NJ Transit police were investigating.

Bogota Boy Struck By Sedan Gets New Bike Following Daily Voice Story
A Bogota boy who was hospitalized after he was hit by a car on his bicycle got a new pair of wheels thanks to the kindness of fellow residents. After reading about the 14-year-old boy's mishap on Daily Voice, borough resident Sherry Solomov headed up an effort that raised nearly $800, Bogota Police Sgt. Geoffrey Cole said. It was enough to get the boy a new bike and lock, as well as a gift card, Cole said. Fifty or so people in all donated, he said.
