NJ Sets New Affordable Housing Quotas: Check Your Town's Numbers
Municipalities across New Jersey must add or rehabilitate approximately 146,000 affordable housing units by 2035. Last week, the Department of Community Affairs released non-binding calculations for every town across the Garden State by a new law requiring each town to meet a specific obligation. Firefighters doused a mulch blaze that spread to a Mahwah affordable housing development before it could do severe damage. The two-alarm fire broke out at the Ramapo Brae development off Stag Hill Road near Route 287 and the Ramapo RIver around 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 29. A Hudson County accountant embezzled hundreds of thousands of dollars from a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing affordable housing to Englewood residents, federal authorities said Tuesday.
