To encourage their peers to read, third-graders challenged the second- and fourth-graders to a read-a-thon. The students received pledges of $1 for every 10 minutes of reading.

On Friday, a volunteer from FOWA Rescue will teach students about animal rescue and the importance of spaying and neutering -- with the help of a few animals.
