Two officers — one from North Haledon, the other from Midland Park — were in the parking lot a Dunkin Donuts in Hawthorne when the Chevy Cobalt rammed the North Haledon police car around 2:30 a.m., law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the incident told CLIFFVIEW PILOT a short time later.

The driver, who took off, has a history that includes charges of assault on a police officer.

Police from North Haledon, Hawthorne and Midland Park are investigating.

They asked that anyone who spots the Cobalt call them. The license plate: ZMV 15T
