Woman on mobility scooter struck crossing Midland Park street

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: A woman trying to cross Goffle Road in Midland Park on a mobility scooter after shopping for groceries was struck by an automobile tonight.

The crash occurred about 5:15 p.m. near the corner of Paterson Avenue, adjacent to the Midland Park Shopping Center.

Grocery bags were scattered across the roadway as an EMS crew tended to the woman, whose injuries didn’t appear life-threatening.

The driver of the white, late-model Chevy sedan remained at the scene and sat on a nearby curb being consoled by someone.

Midland Park police were investigating.
