Witnesses see two run from Ridgewood brush fire

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Two people reported fleeing the area of a small but smoky brush fire in Ridgewood’s Grove Park this afternoon, law enforcement sources told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

A popular stretch over the Saddle River County Bike Path that borders Grove Street and the “waterfall bridge” in Glen Rock was closed while firefighters from both towns quickly put down the blaze.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Arson Investigation Unit was interviewing witnesses while the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence.

Local and county police responded, as well.
