Waldwick woman, 66, critically injured in head-on crash on Wyckoff, Ridgewood border

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: A 66-year-old Waldwick woman was critically injured after her car crossed a double-yellow line and slammed head-on into a UPS tractor-trailer in Wyckoff this afternoon.

The Mazda Protege was headed northbound on Goffle Road in Ridgewood, crossed the double yellow line into Wyckoff and collided with the Overnight Trucking/UPS rig just after 2 p.m.

Wyckoff firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the woman, who was taken by Ridgewood EMS to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson with severe traumatic injuries.

A paramedic unit from The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood assisted Ridgewood EMS with treatment and transport.

Wyckoff police were investigating.
