Police were called after a Garden Street neighbor heard the middle-aged woman’s screams around 11:30 p.m., Police Chief Robert Kugler told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.
The victim told police she pulled up to her home, parked on the street and was waking up her front steps when the dark-skinned, 6-foot-tall, medium-built robber ran up, grabbed her gold-colored purse and ran down the street.
Inside were credit cards, cash and her ID, Kugler said.
The woman said she screamed as he got into a light-colored SUV that fled onto Saddle River Road.
The victims purse contained her personal identification documents, credit cards, and cash.
Police were reviewing area surveillance video of the getaway vehicle.
Kugler asked that anyone who saw or heard anything that could help the investigation call Saddle Brook PD: (201) 843-7000
