Saddle Brook Police Officer Dave DeGennaro said he spotted the beige minivan moving erratically on Saddle River Road near the Fair Lawn border and Bergen County Park and pulled the driver over around 3 a.m. today.

As he walked up, he said, the two men inside took off into the park.

With help from Bergen County Police, the officers set up a perimeter and searched the park, where they found the two near the Red Mill Bridge.

Nikeem J. Thompson, age 23, of 12th Avenue, and 19-year-old Tyrell Floyd of Sheridan Avenue are being held on $25,000 bail each in the Bergen County Jail, charged with resisting arrest and possession of stolen property and burglar tools (a hammer and screwdriver found on the floor of the minivan).

The 1998 Plymouth Minivan, which had a damaged steering column, turned up stolen out of Paterson, Saddle Brook Police Chief Robert Kugler said.
