A resident walking his dog told CLIFFVIEW PILOT that he nearly ran into the pair as they dashed to their car after the burglar alarm sounded at the home on the corner of Kingsbridge Lane and West Saddle River Road — barely 70 yards from the northbound entrance to Route 17.
The getaway car, which pulled onto the northbound highway, had New York license plates, he said.
Witnesses reported seeing two dark-skinned men running from the scene after they opened a rear slider and set off the alarm prying open a rear window.
Neighbors called police, who were on their way when the woman called after hearing from her alarm company.
