Water poured through the intersection of Spring and Van Dien avenues following the 9:45 a.m. crash.

Representatives from PSE&G were called to the scene when firefighters detected a strong smell of natural gas in the area.
Four nearby homes were temporarily evacuated while emergency crews checked for any signs of accumulated gas.

The driver wasn’t injured.

Village police, fire and EMS units all responded, along with Ridgewood Water personnel.

The vehicle was removed on a fladbed tow truck.
