Three Bergen County Police Department K9 units searched the surrounding area, along with police from local departments, with no results.

The call came in just before dismissal, so everyone was held inside the building as a pre-caution “given the proximity to the school,” a law enforcement official told CLIFFVIEW PILOT shortly before 4 p.m.

“People heard a shot fired from the woods across the street from the school. Someone reported seeing a man in an orange hunter’s vest,” another officer said. “Everyone stayed in the school while it was checked out.”
