Police: Would-be burglars in black caught in Saddle River

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A father and son were dressed in black jumpsuits and had black ski masks and gloves, along with tinted goggles, a gun case full of burglary tools and a listing of houses in Saddle River, when police stopped their car yesterday.

Upper Saddle Police Sgt. Emmett McDowell pulled the car over just after 1:15 a.m. Sunday on West Saddle River Road in Saddle River.

Also responding were Saddle River Officers Brian Doyle and Edward Riedel, along with Upper Saddle River Officer Ken Osborne.

Arrested were Jerome Shaw Sr., 51, and Jerome Shaw Jr., 31, both of the Inwood section of Manhattan.

They were released from the Bergen County Jail yesterday after posting $50,000 bail each on charges of attemptd burglary and possession of burglar tools.
